Covid-19 Policy

Since the government announced when pubs and restaurants could re-open and gave their operating guidelines we have been working hard to create a safe environment for our customers and our service teams.
We are offering a reduced menu for outside and limited indoor dining. The indoor dining option will require advanced table reservation, to make a reservation please call 01485 534411.
When you visit, you will see changes in how we are serving our customers and notices to help you navigate your way safely around the property. We are confident that you will appreciate that this is required to ensure the safety of both customers and our service teams. 

Tier 2 Conditions

Alcohol can only be served when accompanying a substantial meal.

All customers must not socialise with anyone from outside their own household or who is not in their support bubble in any indoor setting at the pub.

All customers must not socialise in a group of more than 6 people outside, including in a garden or a public space.

Track and Trace

As per government guidelines we do require you to scan the QR code or supply us with your name and telephone number.  This information is kept for 21 days.

Face coverings

Face covering are to be worn at all times apart from when you are seated at your table to eat and drink.

Table bookings / service

We do advise that you book a table prior to visiting us.  We can only accept table bookings for up to 6 people.  Table service will be provided for all tables inside and outside for all food and drinks.


We have removed all of our tables in the bar area.   We do have a few tables in our Bosun Room which are available on a first come first serve basis.

Sunset Restaurant

Our tables have been moved to ensure that the appropriate social distancing is in place. Tables will not be set before you arrive.  Our team will bring you cutlery and glasses when you order. Due to the reduced capacity we do advise advance table reservations.  To book please call 01485 534411


We do have some tables outside for dining.  This will be for table service only.


We prefer contactless payments but we will be accepting cash.

Following the latest UK Government announcement, the Mariner will close after service on Thursday 24th December and will remain closed until further notice.
